Funds secured for Eumundi Noosa Road review

Following months of lobbying and meetings with local residents, Member for Ninderry Dan Purdie has welcomed news of a $200,000 commitment to carry out a planning study and speed limit review for the Eumundi Noosa Road.

Mr Purdie said he had been meeting with local residents and TMR to discuss a number of safety concerns with the road and recently relaunched a petition to call for an urgent safety review after meeting a group of residents onsite.

“After months of extensive consultation with TMR and locals, I am delighted the Government has not only announced $200,000 for the planning study, but also responded to community concerns, by committing to a speed limit review,” Mr Purdie said.

“This is a great outcome for the local residents, and I thank them for their support of the petition and our campaign to improve the safety of this busy arterial road.”

“This is a positive step forward in our ongoing campaign to see this long overdue infrastructure upgrade project delivered for the community.”

Mr Purdie said he would continue lobbying to ensure that further safety upgrades identified in the planning study, which is expected to be completed next year, are funded.
