Ninderry MP Dan Purdie is encouraging Bli Bli residents to take advantage of an opportunity to help secure their personal property with special one-way plate screws that make it virtually impossible to steal number plates.  

Dan is joining forces with Bli Bli Neighbourhood Watch this Saturday to hand out the free screws, which can only be removed with a special tool not available to the general public.  

“Come down and join us outside Whites IGA in Bli Bli from 9am-11am on Saturday and pick up 2 free screws, which can be easily attached to your registration plates and make them nearly impossible to remove. 

‘This is an easy and practical way to secure your personal property and reduce the risk of opportunistic crime,” Mr Purdie said.  

Dan, who is also the Shadow Minister for Police and Community Safety, said with crime rates skyrocketing across the state in the past decade, it was more important than ever to be vigilant.  

“Thanks to the Bli Bli Neighbourhood Watch for making these screws available to our local community, and their ongoing commitment to safety and crime prevention through initiatives like this, which also helps raise awareness,” Mr Purdie said.  

Bli Bli Neighbourhood Watch Area Coordinator Edith Blanck encouraged locals to be proactive when it comes to securing their property. 

“A big thank you to Dan for joining with us to do what it takes to assist us with getting the job done, keeping our community safe,” Edith said.  

“It’s my pleasure to be working together on yet another project for our community.”
