Coolum Beach now has another drop off location for female period products, with Ninderry MP Dan Purdie coming on board for Share the Dignity’s annual March Dignity Drive.  

Dan said he was encouraged to support the campaign after hearing alarming statistics about females experiencing period poverty.  

“One in five Australians have been unable to afford period products at some point in their life, and that is why I’ve registered my office as a collection point as part of Share the Dignity’s March Dignity Drive,” Dan said.  

During the month of March, a collection box will be set up in the Ninderry Electorate Office in Coolum Beach to accept donations of new sanitary and period products including pads, tampons, maternity pads, incontinence pads, reusable pads, period-proof underwear and menstrual cups.  

These will then be collected and distributed by Share the Dignity’s charity partners to those in need, including females experiencing or at risk of domestic violence, homelessness or poverty.  

Since Share the Dignity was founded in 2015, over four million period products have been collected and distributed.  

The campaign runs until the end of March, and again in August, however locals are encouraged to donate period products at any time. The Ninderry Electorate Office is located at 11 Heathfield Road, Coolum Beach.
