Local JP awarded for 50 years of service

Local Diddillibah resident Neville Watt has been presented with a special service recognition today after notching up 50 years of service as a Justice of the Peace.

Member for Ninderry Dan Purdie MP presented Mr Watt with a special certificate and badge to acknowledge his outstanding contribution to the local community.

“I am truly delighted to be able to acknowledge Mr Watt’s service today,” Mr Purdie said.

“It’s not every day you get to congratulate someone who has been providing a voluntary service to their community for half a century.

“It’s an impressive achievement, and on behalf of the Ninderry electorate, I thank Mr Watt for his dedication and commitment to helping others for so many years.

“I am sure Mr Watt has noticed many changes over that time, but one thing remains constant, and that is our appreciation of the role that JP’s play in our community.”

Mr Purdie invited Mr Watt and his wife Cathy to morning tea after the presentation ceremony.
