Flooding concerns have prompted Ninderry MP Dan Purdie to host a meeting with property owners and officers from the Department of State Development at Coolum Industrial Park earlier this week.  

Mr Purdie said with the second stage of the industrial park set to get underway, a number of owners in the original estate had contacted him with their concerns.  

“The extensive flooding in the estate following the significant rainfall earlier this year has sparked concerns from a number of landlords in the estate about the impact of developing the next stage on the adjacent low lying land,” Mr Purdie said.  

“The meeting, coordinated through the Minister’s office, was a good opportunity to ask questions and get a reassurance that further works won’t exacerbate the problem,” Mr Purdie said.  

Lawyer Frank Carroll, who owns a number of properties in the estate, said he was grateful for the opportunity to speak directly with departmental officials.
