Ranked in the top ten of school canteens across the State, the award winning Busy Bee Café at Bli Bli State School has struck gold again, securing a $33,487 grant in the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
It joins five other well deserving clubs and groups in the local area who will share in nearly $150,000 of funding.
Ninderry MP Dan Purdie congratulated all six local groups which also include the North Arm State School, Maroochydore Football Club, Coolum Netball, Coolum Hearts and the Eumundi and District Pony Club.
“It’s great to see this funding being spread far and wide across the region,” Mr Purdie said.
“From upgrades to school tuckshops and halls, to new equipment and fencing, this funding will be put to excellent use supporting the work of some of our many hard working groups and clubs.”
The funding breakdown includes:
North Arm State School $35,000 – upgrade School’s Community Hall
Bli Bli P&C Association $33,487 – upgrade tuckshop
Maroochydore Football Club $30,000 – purchase mower
Coolum and District Netball Association Inc $20,000 – upgrade fencing
Coolum Hearts $6,979.20 – purchase equipment
Eumundi and District Pony Club $24,122.12 – purchase equipment.
Since last year, local groups across the electorate have benefitted from nearly $500,000 in Gambling grants, Mr Purdie said.
