Carols event marks Christmas countdown

Did you know there’s only around 50 sleeps until the big man in the big red suit arrives to delight families and children around the globe?

If that seems too far away, you can get a sneak peek when he makes a special appearance at the annual Doonan Christmas Carols at its new home at the Eumundi Showgrounds next month.

Kicking off at 5pm on Sunday 1 December, the Carols will feature all the usual highlights including a visit from Santa, who is set to make his grand entrance on the back of a fire engine thanks to the crew from the Doonan Rural Fire Brigade.

There’s also a stellar line up of performers, including:

  • Little Seed Theatre Company
  • Noosa District Concert Band
  • Eumundi Calisthenics
  • Good Shepherd Lutheran College
  • Sunshine Beach State High School
  • The Kitty Kats
  • Debra Casey
  • Emma Tomlinson

Member for Ninderry Dan Purdie said he was delighted to be able to co-sponsor this year’s event, which will kick start the countdown to Christmas.

“There’s nothing like singing along to Christmas carols under the stars, surrounded by family and friends and fantastic entertainment, to get into that Christmas spirit,” Mr Purdie  said.

There will be carparking on site, along with plenty of food stalls. Gates open at 4.00pm, with pre-event entertainment kicking off at 4.30pm.
