Ninderry MP Dan Purdie has reflected on the State Budget, describing it as a ‘mixed bag’ for the electorate. 

He said while he welcomed some additional funding for key road projects, he was very disappointed other vital projects missed out, including funding to progress the masterplan at Coolum State School, Coolum State High’s new hall, and fast-tracking the development of new multipurpose fields at the high school to accommodate AFL and netball.  

“Despite the short-term cost of living measures which are crucial, this Budget delivers very little else for the electorate.   

Key funding secured in the Budget for road projects includes:  

• A whopping $5million extra to deliver the Seib Road pedestrian bridge in Eumundi, including $3million from the Federal government  

• An extra $1.43million for planning and upgrades of the Bli Bli bridge 

• An extra $700,000 for intersection upgrades at Maroochydore Road, Pike and Killick St in Kunda Park (pre-construction) 

“These are all vitally important projects and I welcome the funding, which will go a long way to helping upgrade our road network, which has been severely neglected by this Labor government for nearly a decade,” Mr Purdie said. 

Mr Purdie will deliver his Budget reply speech later this week.
